Year 2019
ABOA 2019 was the first iGEM team from Turku and it was composed of 13 students studying biochemistry, biotechnology, bioinformatics, economics, chemistry, medicine, cell and molecular biology and molecular biotechnology and diagnostics in the University of Turku or Åbo Akademi. The aim of the project was to improve the sensitivity of the immunoassays used in diagnostic tests by orienting the capture antibodies uniformly to improve the binding capacity of the capture surface. The team competed in the diagnostics track and achieved a silver medal.
